Home adjustments

A caravan, made up of one truck and three motor-bikes, arrives. That has to be the carpenter and his entourage, because although it is Sunday he had promised to come and finish a lot of the work that he had taken on: clothes cupboards and the partitioning of the bigger bedrooms into two sections. He’s accompanied by two helpers, and they spend quite some time on the job, but in the end they find clever solutions and a beautiful result: cupboard walls!

Our community home is so spaciously laid-out that it has only three bedrooms. They are big enough to divide into two, but the partitioning cannot go from wall to wall as both occupants should be able to get out of their part of the room through the only door. We also want to ensure that both persons will have some privacy, so we thought of the idea to create floor-to ceiling cupboards that act as a partitioning, and that leaves a small opening that can act as a passageway to the only door. We will hang a curtain in the passageway, and hey presto!we have combined the needful (creation of privacy) with the needed (clothes cupboard)!

Untill now we have taken our meals at the wooden bar area in the house which is okay for three persons, for example Anielka, Jonathan and myself. But now we have asked the carpenter to produce three dining room tables that can be used separately if we want to eat in smaller groups, or joined together if we want to eat all together. The carpenter will deliver the tables and chairs next week. We see before our eyes our dreams unfolding!
