The 2017 annual report was finished some weeks ago and is now available on the website. It consists of a descriptive and a financial part.
The content for the descriptive part is based on the six-monthly reports that our Board receives from the Board of the Ruach Foundation. These reports, and other information from for example blogs are used for the text of our annual report, which together with some pictures gives a good idea of how the project and its people are faring. In the financial part of the annual report we show figures for our r fund raising, the costs we have and the amounts we transfer to Nicaragua. The financial figures are audited by a committee.
The big expenses in the Ruach home in Juigalpa are the cost s of staff salaries, home rent, and living costs.. The total budget in Juigalpa is about $ 50,000 of which $ 40,000 are sent by Vivir Juntos from contributions made to us. This means that the people in Juigalpa raise the remaining $10,000 themselves in different ways. You can read about this in Astrid’s blogs.
Vivir Juntos has committed itself to making contributions to Ruach for a 5-year period ending at the end of 2020. Of course that time is approaching fast, so it is gratifying to see that people in Juigalpa have also raised substantial amounts. In the forthcoming months the boards of Ruach and Vivir Juntos will consult with each other about how we can work together towards financial independence for the Ruach community in Juigalpa after 2020.
